OncologyParamedic Struck Off For Making False Job Applications
Paramedic, Ms Kim Holland has been struck off the HPC Register for
repeatedly providing false information to her employer in order to further
her career.
A HPC Conduct and Competence Committee heard that Ms Holland dishonestly
represented her academic qualifications and sickness history on a number of
job application forms since May 2000, breaching the HPC standards of
conduct performance and ethics.
HPC Panel Chair, Mr Paul Archer commented:
"The Registrant dishonestly and repeatedly over several occasions falsely
represented her academic qualifications to further her career in The Trust
at the expense of others. In addition, she dishonestly presented her
sickness history for similar gain when applying for the position of Lead
Paramedic.
"Not only did she betray her professional colleagues, she also breached the
trust placed in her by the public in her status as a registered health
professional.
"The only option which the Panel find appropriate to protect the public, to
maintain public confidence in health professionals and proportionate in
these circumstances given the nature of the dishonesty is that of a
striking off order."
The Panel decided to strike Ms Holland from the Register with immediate
effect.
Ms Holland was neither present nor represented at the hearing.
